Skip Beat Chapter 205

In this chapter, Kuon(Ren) comes face to face with Kyoko but he has to feign ignorance because he can't let his identity be exposed, but being the gentlemen that he is he couldn't leave Kyoko down in the dumps and in her depressed state. I'm really interested in how the next chapter will unfold hopefully there will be some huge developments.

Skip Beat Chapter 204

Things are finally heating up literally. So, in this chapter Kyoko took a trip to Guam to film for some drama, and low and behold as she strolled down a more secluded part of the beach she stumbles upon a beautiful creature freshly emerging from the water known as Tsuruga Ren. As usual, the mangeka has left the reader on a nail-biting cliff-hanger. I'm eagerly looking forward to the next chapter.

Skip Beat Chapter 203

In this chapter, Kyoko comes to terms with her feelings for Ren and ultimately decides that she will continue to love him from afar, and keep her feelings for him to herself. I guess it's a good thing that Kyoko has finally acknowledged her romantic interest in Ren and her solution to the situation was a easy and obvious choice. The drama and angst seems to never end between these two. I hope that the both of them will have a bright future together and that we can finally reach a breaking point in this manga regarding their relationship.

Skip Beat Chapter 202

In this chapter, the president of LME(Lori) confronts Kyoko about her blossoming feelings for Ren, and he gets all philosophical on her. Kyoko breaks down into tears because she doesn't want to become a fool in love again, and in the end Lori presents her with a choice regarding her feelings for Ren. I know that the road hasn't been exactly smooth sailing for this romance between Ren and Kyoko, but then again nothing in life ever is. I really hope that we'll reach a resolution real soon regarding this because this manga has really dragged this aspect out and for long enough.

Skip Beat Chapter 201

Basically, Kyoko just spent this entire chapter freaking out whether or not Lory would let the cat out of the bag about how she's in love with Ren. The mangeka is really dragging this manga out that it's becoming ridiculous. I mean, at the rate that this manga is going Kyoko won't kiss Ren until the 300th chapter. All of this time has passed and barely anything major has happened. I can only hope that something extremely eventful will happen in the upcoming chapters.

Skip Beat Chapter 200

Skip Beat has finally reached it's 200th chapter!! Yoshihi Nakamura was building up to this chapter and to tell you the truth I was somewhat disappointed by the contents within this chapter. I mean on the bright side at least Kyoko is openly admitting her feelings for Ren to the reader and it's a start, but it seems that once Kyoko takes a step forward she just ends up taking two steps back and it can be really frustrating. At this point, Ren and Kyoko are just beating around the bush with their feelings for each other and I'm just sitting here yelling at my screen for them to get together already! The wait and long drawn out development is agonizing.

Skip Beat Chap. 198+199 Thoughts

I think that Yoshiki Nakamura is building up to something big for the 200th chapter and these two chapters are leading up to that big event. Kyoko has finally admitted that she's in love with Ren, but as you all know she is scared to fall in love again due to her traumatizing experience with love when she was so in love with Sho. Kyoko at this point needs to wake up and smell the roses and try again at love. She needs to overcome her fear and not let a man that she was so blindly in love with spoil her other chances with men. She can't let that one bad event in her life continue to haunt her and control her for the rest of her life. She needs to give love a chance again, and see that it can turn out differently if she would just suck it up and be more upfront and honest with people about how she really feels about them.

Skip Beat Chapter 197

I was smiling throughout this entire chapter as I was reading it. Also, it seems that Ren is melting Kyoko's shackled heart and their relationship is slowly but surely moving into something more intimate. All I can say is FINALLY!!!!! If you've been reading this manga for as long as I have you know that this event is a huge milestone. The story as of now is really picking up and I'm interested to see what happens next.

Skip Beat Chapter 196

Slowly but surely Skip Beat is moving towards the pivotal conflicting aspects of the story which include Kyoko's reluctance to fall in love again and how she's I guess in a way unknowingly falling in love with Ren and is on the verge of admitting it and resolving Tsuruga Ren's dark past. This chapter concluded Kyoko's semi-strip tease as Setsuka with Cain and was an overall entertaining chapter. At the end of the chapter it seems that Ren has finally come to accept his dark past and his past actions when he still went by the name Kuon. I hope from now the story will pick up as this manga tends to linger on some things for a little longer than it should but that's just how the author seems to like to operate.

Extravagant Challenge (Skip Beat) Review

Review

CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!

I've just recently finished this drama a few days ago and I loved every minute of it. If there's one thing that I can say about Taiwanese Dramas is that they try to stay as close to the source material as possible and I commend them for that.

Summary:  High school graduate Gong Xi(Kyoko Mogami) gives up her chances for university in order to support her childhood friend and romantic goal, Bu Po Shang(Sho Fuwa), in his pop idol career. Upon arriving in Taipei, Gong Xi starts working on multiple jobs in order to support Shang, whose popularity quickly rises, eventually becoming one of the top idols in Taiwan. One day, Gong Xi catches Shang flirting with his manager, and learns that he only used her so she can help him with his living expenses. Heart-broken and betrayed, Gong Xi vows to get revenge by becoming a bigger star. Gong Xi auditions for L.M.E., Taiwan's largest talent agency, and joins L.M.E.'s new-found department "Love Me" with Jiang Nanqin(Momose), also a new recruit. At L.M.E. famous actor Dun Helian(Ren Tsuruga), disgusted by Gong Xi's reasons for joining the show business, consistently finds ways to annoy and taunt her. As Gong Xi's acting career starts to take off, she begins to discover a new sense of identity and purpose, separate from her initial plans of revenge. Lian also eventually warms up to her, and although at first in denial, he finds himself falling more and more in love with her

This drama was adapted from a Japanese manga called Skip Beat which is still ongoing in serialization. The ost, actors/actress were spot on with their characters and was overall a great live-action adaption. Yes, at the ending there was a little cock tease but it also left the drama open to the possibility of a second season. This drama can be time consuming as each of the 13 episodes are over 1hr each, but the drama is so entertaining and time will seem to fly by as you watch it.

Verdict

A great drama and a definite watch.
