Vampire Knight Finale

The manga Vampire Knight has finally come to an end and 7 years of my life along with it. I first started reading vk in 2006 and was immediately drawn into it's world and art. To be honest I didn't really have too many expectations when reading this final chapter because I've felt that the story of Vampire Knight lost it's self after the conclusion of the Rido Arc and first half of the manga. After the whole time-skip thing Vampire Knight just was not as good as it used to be and just became a soap opera and angst fest, but being the loyal reader that I was I didn't drop this manga and continued to follow it. At first after reading the final chapter I was utterly disappointed and I couldn't believe that this was how the mangeka decided to end this story, but after letting it sink in and much thought I came to actually like the ending even though it was a safe and easy way out type of ending.

Above all I'm glad that my otp ship Zeki became canon and I was so glad that Zero got a happy ending after  all of the bs he had to endure and suffer throughout this manga. The ending was definitely rushed there's no question about that. The two kids I think are personally both Zero's and Yuuki's and unless the author comes out and says otherwise that's what I'm going to stick with. Kaname on the other hand being turned into a human by Yuuki was somewhat excepted in a way, but in the end Kaname was given a 2nd shot at life while Zero and Yuuki are together in the afterlife and their children will continue to look after human Kaname. So all in all it was a decent way to end the manga albeit the cliches, and without further ado I bid my farewell to the manga Vampire Knight.

Shipping Cafe #06

In the back of my mind I've always felt that the AidouxYuuki ship was kinda of a comic-relief type ship. I mean, Aidou was kinda of the 3rd unofficial male suitor in the series that was vying for Yuuki's attention, but than again not really. Personally, I find this ship kinda cute and see it as a what could have been type of ship because I know that Yuuki trusts Aidou and respects him to a degree. Plus, he was pretty much tasked to look after Yuuki during the whole time-skip and from then on by none other than Kaname. I think at some point down the road Aidou developed either a slight attraction to/crush on Yuuki, but of course she was too oblivious to it or it didn't really cross her mind.

Vampire Knight Chapter 92

There is only 1 chapter left until Vampire Knight's Finale. This chapter if more than anything was a build up to the final chapter and of course ended on a suspenseful cliff hanger. I'm very proud of Zero and how far he's come and has grown over the course of the manga. He is hands down the best character in VK and I hope that he gets the good ending that he so well deserves. I'm just interested to see how to final chapter of this manga will play out within the span of 52 pages. I hope that the ending of this manga will be satisfying to some degree.

Vampire Knight Chapter 91

There are now only 2 chapters left until the conclusion of this manga. In this chapter nothing extremely significant happened except for Zero being on the brink to recovering his lost memories of Yuuki to which I say meh. Yuuki is very adamant about not wanting Kaname to become the new "Parent Metal" and was just being her usual selfish, whining, and useless character arch-type as usual. I wonder how Hino will choose to wrap up this manga over the course of the next two final chapters.

Vampire Knight Chapter 90

It's official Vampire Knight is going to be ending in May. Where the story is currently now I have mixed feelings about the road that Vampire Knight has gone down. At this point I genuinely feel that after the whole Rido Kuran Arc the manga story-wise has struggled to find it's self and get out of the hole it's fallen in. Part of me thinks that the manga should have ended after the Rido Arc and leave the story on an open-ended type of note. Kaname in this chapter was a major ass and I personally just want him to hurry up and die. As for Zero I just hope that he lives a happy life because he really deserves it and truthfully he is the only character that I care about in this manga at this point. It took me too long to finally realize that Yuuki is a very shallow-slut and she doesn't even deserve Zero. Hino Matsuri is a troll she trolled all of this manga's readers.

Vampire Knight Chapter 89

Today was a sad day for all of us ZEKI shippers ):
This manga in it's self is a tragedy in essence...

I don't even know what to think and feel about VK anymore. It seems as Yuuki wants to save Kaname from his eternal fate of being the new parent metal and succeeding the ancestress. Yuuki is willing to sacrifice her life in order for Kaname to be turned into a human. She erased her existence from Zero's memories so that his life will be easier on him and so his vampiric thirst will be quelled. While this may seem like a noble act on Yuuki's part it is also an incredibly selfish act. As I said in a previous post, I don't care for the Yume(KanamexYuuki) ship it's boring, lack luster, generic, uninteresting, or appealing to me. I think Zero's memories of Yuuki will definitely come back at some point for sure. I know a lot of people after reading this first chapter of the final arc of the manga decided to drop the manga in its entirety, but I'm going to read this manga all the way through till the end no matter how tragic or how things may turn out in the end.

Vampire Knight Chapter 88

Thoughts

This chapter of VK gave me so many FEELS and not in a good way. This is just my opinion but I want to say as of chapter 87 that Zeki is canon at this point. I think that the Yume ship is beyond the point of no return as Kaname has buried himself in a huge hole that he cannot get out of with the path that he is currently taking. The chapter was overall good and emotional, but I really did not like the end of the chapter with Yuuki seemingly erasing Zero's memories of her existence. I was just like no Yuuki don't blow a hole in my ship, but as a dedicated reader of the Vampire Knight series I will just have to see where the story will go from here and what lies at the end of this tragic tale. Vampire Knight will be starting from the next chapter coming out in January it's final story arc.

Yume vs. Zeki Part II

Zeki

ZeroxYuuki

There are slight spoilers read at your own risk!!!

I am deeply in love of this ship as this is my OTP of the Vampire Knight manga series.

Zero and Yuuki have so much history together and have for the most part supported each other in their times of need. Their love for each other is so tangible and obvious some times that it hurts. Just recently in the manga Yuuki admitted that she loves Zero as a lover not as family just to be clear here and I couldn't be anymore happier. Zero though initially had trouble conveying his feelings towards Yuuki, but his actions of affection towards her spoke louder than words. The main things for the most part that got in the way of this ship was Yuuki's incisiveness and Kaname Kuran's constant cock-blocking. Even though Zero and Yuuki have only kissed twice throughout the entire span of the manga so far I think that they have more than made up for that with the many intimate scenes that they've shared.

Verdict

This ship has my full support as I feel that Zero and Yuuki are a match made in heaven. I hope with the manga supposedly ending soon that a Zeki ending will happen, but I'm scared as this is a tragedy-shoujo manga so anything can happen.

Yume vs. Zeki Part I

Yume

KanamexYuuki

There are slight spoilers read at your own risk!!!

With Vampire Knight seemingly according to a rumor is ending in March 2013 I found this a fitting time to post my thoughts on the two major driving ships within the series Yume and Zeki.

Where do I even begin with the ship that is known as Yume? Well starting off in the beginning of the Vampire Knight manga series I was torn between Yume and Zeki and didn't know which ship I preferred over the other. Until the Rido Kuran Arc when Kaname talked to Zero when he was in that underground cell. After that event I came to despise Kaname and therefore came to dislike the Yume ship. Kaname Kuran is a clever, calculating character and seems to know how to get people to do what he wants as he knows their weaknesses. Lately, in the VK fandom there seems to be a huge dislike of Yuuki and I can see where these people are coming from but when it comes to Yuuki I just analyze her unique upbringing and things just come into perspective for me. As seen multiple times during the manga Yuuki loves both Kaname and Zero and in turn they both love her dearly as well and from this we get our angst love triangle. During these past chapters that have come out and with Kaname being on his slayer mission of killing all of the Pure-blood vampires with the exception of Yuuki of course I don't really know where his feelings currently stand. At this point it seems he's abandoned Yuuki and in a sense has set her free as at one point he did call her a hindrance to his plans.

Verdict

I think Kaname does still love Yuuki and cares for her but is super focused on his task of eliminating all of the Pure-blood vampires. Kaname has always done things behind the scenes for Yuuki's sake regardless of the mess that his actions will create later. Lately, I've been feeling that Kaname felt obligated to protect Yuuki since Haruka and Juuri Kuran wanted him too, but he never loved Yuuki as deep or like a true lover as he did the ancestress.
